LA MIRADA, Calif. --- For the second consecutive week a Biola soccer player has earned the title of Golden State Athletic Conference Defender of the Week. Kayla White, a senior defender, earned her first conference weekly award after leading Biola Women's Soccer to a 2-0 week.
 
White is one of just two Biola Women's Soccer players to participate in all 180 minutes of play as Biola earned a 6-0 win over Antelope Valley and 2-1 win over California Baptist.
 
She scored one of the Eagles' six goals against the Pioneers with an absolute rocket from outside of the penalty box. It was her first goal of the season and the third goal of her Biola career.
 
That game was Biola's third shutout of the 2016 season. The Eagles allowed one goal in the second game of the week, but scored two unanswered to earn a victory over future PacWest foe California Baptist.
 
White is a part of a Biola defense that is one of the best in all of the NAIA. Throughout the team's six preseason matches it has a 6-0 record and has outscored opponents 25-3.
 
She and the Eagles begin Golden State Athletic Conference play this week with home matches against Arizona Christian and Menlo.
