LA MIRADA, Calif. --- On Thursday Aug. 4, renovations to Al Barbour Field were officially completed in advance of the 2016 soccer and cross country seasons.
Â
Renovations to the facility include the installation of new turf on the soccer field and a replacement and restriping of the surrounding track. Both facilities now feature Biola Athletics branding and the track striping was renovated to now include five lanes. Â
Â
An additional upgrade was made on McNally Field for the Track & Field program, where new nets were raised and rings installed for the throws facility adjacent to Stewart. This new facility will allow for increased practice time and added safety for the student-athletes and surrounding area.
Â
Next on the agenda for facility renovation will be more construction around Freedom Field for the softball program. Generous donations will allow facility upgrades in time to play home games under the lights during the 2017 season.
Â
Biola Men and Women's Soccer will begin practicing on the new turf immediately and play their first exhibitions on top of the red BU on Aug. 24 against former GSAC foe and future PacWest foe, Concordia.
