Eagles Battle CSUSB

Biola continues its season-opening road trip with a 2-0 result at Cal State San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. --- The Biola men's soccer team dropped its second straight match, falling 2-0 at Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday at Premier Field.

CSUSB got on the board early in the 16th minute. Ethan Kell kept the Eagles within striking distance, making a key save just over a minute later.

Biola was limited to just one shot in the opening half, with Ryan Ellsworth recording the Eagles' first attempt in the 42nd minute. Biola earned a corner kick shortly after, but CSUSB carried its one-goal advantage into halftime.

The Coyotes continued to pressure the Eagles early in the second half, but Kell remained steady between the pipes. He stopped two attempts in the early going to keep Biola within one.

Jeremy Larson recorded Biola's second shot of the match in the 50th minute, but the Eagles were unable to find an equalizer.

CSUSB eventually doubled its advantage in the 81st minute, giving the Coyotes a 2-0 lead that they would carry through the final whistle.

Kell finished with four saves in his second straight start in goal for the Eagles.

The Eagles return to action on September 3rd at 4 p.m. (5 p.m. MT), when they visit Colorado for a two game road trip.
