LAKEWOOD, Colo. --- The Biola men's soccer team completed their Colorado road trip against the Colorado Christian University Cougars. The Eagles fought to a 2-2 draw.
Biola battled back from two separate deficits to earn a 2-2 draw at Colorado Christian on Saturday, getting a first-half goal from
Kyle Denn and a second-half equalizer from
Jeremy Larson to salvage a point on the road.
Colorado Christian struck first in the 38th minute, converting a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead. The Eagles responded almost immediately. Less than a minute later,
Gabriel Hernandez found Denn, who buried the opportunity to bring Biola level at 1-1 heading into halftime.
The hosts regained the advantage early in the second half, scoring in the 48th minute to put Colorado Christian back in front, 2-1. The Eagles found the equalizer in the 60th minute when Larson scored to make it 2-2. The goal gave Biola its second comeback of the afternoon and ultimately proved to be the final goal of the match.
Ethan Kell started in goal and played all 90 minutes, finishing with three saves.
The draw moves Biola to 0-2-2 on the season. They will face Cal State LA on the road next Wednesday, Sept. 9th at 7 p.m.
