AVON, Ohio—Biola Women's Golf has added a standout golfer to their roster for the 2016 season. Sam Burmeister of Lutheran West HS will be flying from one Eagles nest to another. She will join Biola this fall.

Burmeister competed at the varsity level for the Eagle in all four years of high school. She was named the captain of her team in her junior and senior year. Burmeister led her squad to a state runner-up finish in the 2015 season. She plans to bring her leadership qualities and positive attitude to La Mirada.

"Living in Ohio I always wanted to go to a Christian college somewhere warm," said Burmeister. Â "I love traveling and have done it all my life, I especially love California, and when I visited Biola for the first time, I knew that was where I wanted to go!"

Burmeister was named the MVP of her conference her senior year as well as being named a first team All-Northeast Ohio District selection. She was also a three time Northern Ohio PGA tournament champion.

Burmeister plans to major in communications with hops of one day having a career in broadcasting.
