ATLANTA, Ga.—The Biola Women's Golf team has added a recruit to their 2016 class.
Alexis Gopfert of Atlanta will join the Eagles in the fall.
Â
Gopfert attended Lakeview Academy located in Gainesville, Georgia and is expected to be a positive force for the squad this season.
Â
She was a low medalist for the region tournament and a runner-up low medalist in the state tournament. Gopfert is excited to make her way from the south to southern California and show-off her talents on the west coast.
Â
"My goal is to receive a Christian based education and I have always wanted to live in California," said Gopfert. "After coming out to visit coach Carr and some of the team, this was the place I knew I wanted to grow spiritually, academically and athletically."
Â
Gopfert is a dedicated community member. Back in Georgia she started a charity golf tournament for the Rainbow Children's Home, which is a foster home for abused and neglected girls. Over the past three years she was able to raise $45,000 and was recognized as the youngest member on the charity board. She also received a Resolution Letter from the Georgia House of Representatives.Â
Â
At Lakeview Academy, Gopfert earned a spot on the Head Master's honor list. She plans to major in communications and hopes to one day become a sports broadcaster.
