LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Baseball's impact is being felt in summer baseball leagues all over the country as various Eagles continue to impress with their performances in their summer exhibition games.
Â
Jeremy Barth and
Sam Thorne are the latest examples of shining summer league performances as both players made the All-Star games in their respective leagues.
Â
Barth is representing the Eagles on the Xenia Scouts of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. The Scouts are an Athletes In Action Affiliate based out of Xenia, Ohio.
Â
Thorne has found his summer home with the San Diego Force of the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League. The Force play their games at Madison High School in sunny San Diego.
Â
Barth has been tearing things up for the Scouts this summer with 11 doubles and 20 RBI in 36 games. He earned his all-star nod due to a red-hot June that saw him hit .333 and reach base in nearly 40 percent of his ABs. He's helped the Scouts to a 24-13 overall record. They are tied for first in the GLSCL South and one game back for the league's best record overall.
Â
The GLSCL All-Star Game takes place Tuesday July 19 at 7:05 p.m. ET. Barth will represent the South Team in the game and will have a chance to workout for MLB Scouts at the prospect showcase beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.

He's continued on what he started during the spring season as he's still showing a knack for getting on base. He's recorded an OBP of .505 through his first 18 appearances.
Â
Thorne is one of 12 Force players to be selected for the SCCBL All-Star Game. The game was played at Palm Springs Stadium on July 16. The San Diego Force are 28-8 through the 36-game season. Thorne helped lead the team to an 11-5 league record and a spot in the SCCBL playoffs as the No. 2 seed.
