DALLAS, TEXAS—Biola Track and Field has added another gifted athlete to help the Eagles reach the next level on the track. Head Coach Sean Henning is excited to announce the signing of Ashley Otah of Dallas, Texas. She will arrive on campus in the fall of 2016.
 
Otah attended Wylie High School where she competed in the long jump, triple jump, high jump and the 100m hurdles. She plans to come onto campus and make an immediate impact on the track and on campus. Coach Henning feels that she is a person that exemplifies the type of athlete the Eagles want on their squad.
 
"I am very excited that we were able to bring in Ashley to the Biola Family. She is going to be a huge part of the success of our track and field team over the next four years," said Henning. "I expect her to come in and make an immediate impact.  She will be a heptathlete here at Biola and I think she will make an immediate impact for us at the conference and national level. Ashley comes from a great family and has a great spiritual foundation. She seemed to love everything about Biola, and I firmly believe that God has her exactly where He wants her."
 
In her time at Wylie, Otah spent all four years on the varsity team where she was the team MVP and led the Pirates to seven regional championships. Otah herself was a regional and district champion as well as a two-time state qualifier. She wants to bring the same success and positive attitude to Biola for the next four years.
 
"I chose Biola because of the vibrant Christian environment and the strong sense of community," said Otah.
 
Otah was a multi-sport athlete as she competed on varsity powerlifting for four yeas and was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad.
 
She was a great student who was on honor roll through out her academic career and graduated with honors. She plans to major in public relations.
