LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Since 2015-16 was such a remarkable time for Biola Athletics we decided to enlist the help of all of our faithful Twitter followers in deciding the year's top moments during a series of Twitter Polls this summer.
 
Rather that come up with our department's top-10 moments in some closed door meeting and then release them one by one we decided to come up with a top-16 list and then use these Twitter polls to narrow it down and see what you all think was the moment of the year.
 
Over the course of the next two weeks we will release a new Twitter poll during each business day that pairs a couple of our top moments head-to-head. The results of the fan vote will move one moment forward in the bracket with a chance to be the year's top moment.
 
We've selected 16 key happenings spread throughout the academic and athletic calendar that we think helped make 2015-16 as special as it was. The moments range from conference championships to big comebacks to individual national championship efforts.
 
Each morning we will post a brief preview of the day's matchups on athletics.biola.edu and then encourage those who follow us on Twitter to vote for their favorite moment.
 
Day 1 Matchups:
Men's Soccer Wins GSAC Tournament vs. Men's Tennis Wins 11^th Match
 
MOMENT 1: Men's Soccer hosted the 2015 Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament and made it to the final where it had a head-to-head matchup with Vanguard for the tournament championship and automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament. In the 88^th minute Leo Contreras scored the game's only goal and the Eagles locked up their first-ever GSAC Tournament Championship in front of the home crowd.
 
MOMENT 2: Men's Tennis has set program-best win totals in each of the previous three seasons. After a 10-14 season in 2015 Head Coach Brent Worthington made it his mission to get his team closer to .500 with an increased win total in 2016. On March 25 his team accomplished that on the final day of the regular season as a 5-4 win over Arizona Christian secured an 11-11 regular season mark. Philip Westwood secured the match win and new program-best win total by earning a 7-6 victory in the third set of the deciding singles match.
 
Women's 4x800m National Championship vs. Baseball Wins Three Straight At GSAC
 
MOMENT 1: After coming out of prelims with just the seventh fastest time in the field, Biola's 4x800m relay team turned things around in a big way to run away with the national championship at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Eagles were six seconds back from the fastest team in prelims and ended up shedding 14 seconds as it worked to a huge win in front of a large crowd of traveling Biola fans. Hannah Hunsaker, Lyndee Dawson, Kellian Hunt and Anika Gasner posted a time of 8:57.16 to finish more than six seconds ahead of the second place school (British Columbia).
 
MOMENT 2: After finishing fifth in the regular season Golden State Athletic Conference standings Biola Baseball was the final team (and lowest seeded team) to earn a spot at the 2016 GSAC Championship tournament. The Eagles had the toughest road to the championship series by having to win three games in two days in order to get there. That is exactly what the team did with a pair of 4-2 wins over Menlo and Westmont on Day 1 of the tournament and a 3-2 victory over The Master's the next afternoon. The three consecutive wins helped lift the Eagles into the championship segment of the tournament for the first time since 2011.
