SANTA ANA, Calif. — Biola Track and Field has added a gifted hurdler and solid overall athlete to its squad to help their already nationally competitive team. Noah Rogers, a transfer from Orange Coast College is committed to join Head Coach Sean Henning and the Eagles on the track for 2016-17.
 
Rogers is a hurdler and competes in the decathlon as well. He attended Foothill High School where he spent two years on the varsity team and saw great success as the track MVP his junior and senior year. Coach Henning is eager to work with him and see what he can do for the Eagles in the coming years.
 
"I am excited to start working with Noah. He is a very talented hurdler and jumper and has some experience in the decathlon," said coach Henning. "Noah comes from a Christian home and brings some great leadership to a young group of hurdlers. I think he can be a national qualifier and can really help us score some points at the conference level. He stays calm, cool and collected and finishes races very well."
 
At Orange Coast College, Rogers spent two years on the track team where he was the freshman of the year in 2015 and earned team MVP this past season. He competed in the 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles and the decathlon. He hopes that this success translates to Biola.
 
"I chose Biola because I believe it will be a great place to continue my academic and athletic career," said Rogers. "I also like the wholesome Christian environment the university provides."
 
Rogers is a dual citizen of the United States and Australia. He even competes for the Australian national team and is the 7th best hurdler in the country.
 
Success in the classroom is important to Rogers as well. At Orange Coast College he was a scholar-athlete award recipient twice. He plans to major in communications and hopes to become a sports journalist.
