SAN DIEGO, Calif.— Men's soccer has added another California native to their squad, and he is looking forward to competing with the Eagles. Aaron Hontucan is a transfer midfielder from San Diego Mesa who will take the field in La Mirada this fall.
 
In his time at Horizon Christian High School, Hontucan led his team to a Coastal League championship and was also named Coastal League player of the year his senior year.
 
"Aaron plays the game with a simple, effective, unassuming style," said Head Coach Todd Elkins. "He's willing to put the work in on both sides of the ball. His recent experience playing a season for San Diego Mesa College will help him make the transition to Biola."
 
In his senior year, Hontucan played in 21 games for the Panthers scoring 20 goals and recording 12 assists. He was on the roster at San Diego Mesa for one season and appeared in 19 games with three starts as he led his team to a 15-7-1 record.
 
"I chose Biola for the friendly Christian community and the focus on biblically centered teaching," said Hontucan.
 
Hontucan was also member of the surf team at Horizon Christian. He was the San Diego division IV men's shortboard runner-up.
 
When Hontucan arrives at Biola, he plans to major in history. He hopes to one day become a coach and a teacher.
