LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Just as the season came to a close with successful performances at the 2016 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Biola's track & field team brought in some more team honors.
 
Early in the week the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its regional honors and Head Coach Sean Henning and Assistant Coach Anthony Pizzo both earned recognition.
 
Henning was named the 2016 USTFCCCA West Region Women's Coach of the Year after leading the Eagles to another Golden State Athletic Conference Championship and earning a No. 6 national ranking.
 
Pizzo was recognized as the USTFCCCA West Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year after his first year coaching the team's distance runners. Pizzo's student-athletes accounted for 119 points at the GSAC Championship meet and played a huge role in the Eagles' edging Westmont by 1.5 points.
 
In addition to the coaching honors the 2016 NAIA Scholar-Athlete list was released. This includes all student-athletes who are juniors or seniors with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
 
On the men's side Andrew Daedler, Brandon Berz and Mark Stacy all earned scholar-athlete recognition. Daedler has won the award before while Berz and Stacy each earned it for the first time in their careers.
 
The women's team had 15 student-athletes represented on the scholar-athlete list. See below for the full list of academic honorees.
