COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- Micah Hickerson was a leader on the track and off the track at Discovery Canyon Campus High School and he plans to apply his experience and values at Biola in the fall.
 
Hickerson knows what it means to compete at a high level. In four years with the Thunder he accumulated three varsity letters, a team MVP award and qualified for state. He is committed to join Head Coach Sean Henning and contribute to the Eagles program.
 
"Micah has a strong connection to Biola. His parents went to school here and Biola has been his No. 1 choice for a while now," said Henning. "I'm happy to have him in our program as I know he will bring a strong Christ-centered competitive attitude to our team. I think he will really develop into a great hurdler and will add great depth to our program."
 
During his time at Discovery Canyon Campus High School, Hickerson competed in the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. He led his team to a third place finish in the Pikes Peak Athletic Conference while being named team MVP and was added to the Top 10 Fastest Time list.
 
He also excelled in the classroom earning him two academic letters.
 
"I chose Biola for it's awesome community, great athletic program, and the Christ-centered campus," said Hickerson. "I grew in California and have always missed the beaches and weather so it will be awesome to be back home."
 
Hickerson's family is no stranger to the Biola campus. His father, mother, grandfather and grandmother all attended this institution.
