LA MIRADA, Calif --- Biola Women's Tennis had a big task ahead of it as it entered play against Lewis-Clark State University on Friday afternoon. Â The Eagles were missing three of their regulars as they battled hard in a 0-9 loss to the visiting Warriors.
Â
The Eagles began the day with three losses in doubles play that set the team back 3-0 within the first 45 minutes or so of the match.
Â
Katie Boesl and
Bailey McGeough put forth the most resistance of any of the Eagles' doubles pairings as the lost 3-8 at No. 2.
Â
It was
Brooke Sanford who put forth the biggest fight during singles play. She gave her opponent a handful at No. 1 singles and held a 5-2 advantage through the early stages of the first set. Unfortunately, her opponent charged all the way back to win that set 7-5 and then worked a 6-3 win in set two to earn a straight-set win in the last singles match off the court.
