LA MIRADA, Calif. --- On the Thursday preceding the conference basketball tournament the Golden State Athletic Conference released its 2015-16 basketball scholar-athletes.
 
In order earn this recognition the student-athletes must be a junior or senior and have a cumulative collegiate grade point average above 3.50.
 
Between the nine schools in the conference 23 players earned this prestigious academic recognition. Four of those 23 student-athletes came from Biola as two members of Biola Women's Basketball and two members of Biola Men's Basketball were recognized for their academic achievements.

"We are so proud of our student-athletes and their diligence in the classroom," said Director of Athletics Dr. Bethany Miller. "The academic success of student-athletes at Biola is very important, and receiving these valuable awards affirms their achievement. We are excited to recognize this success!"

 
Seniors Caelan Tiongson and Christian Misi both earned their second career conference academic honor on the men's side. On Head Coach Alan Nakamura's roster seniors Joclyn Kirton and Aubree Mittel were each selected as repeat winners.
