LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Upon the conclusion of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics men and women's basketball season Biola University finds itself staying at the top of the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings.

Biola Men's Basketball finished ninth in the final NAIA poll to earn 53 points for the Eagles' cumulative total. The Eagles sit 22 points in front of the second place program, Olivet Nazarene.

ONU earned 95 points from its DII basketball programs to leapfrog into the second-place position. The Tigers placed seventh in the NAIA standings last season. Biola placed 25
th.

The Eagles scored point with four of its winter sports. Men's basketball and swimming and women's swimming and track & field combined for 247 total winter points. Biola added that to 313 fall points to maintain its place atop the standings.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports in the NAIA-- six women's and six men's.
