LA MIRADA, Calif. --- It was a fantastic win on the court and in the pool for Biola men and women's basketball and swimming and diving, but the teams' performances in the classroom were definitely not to be overlooked.

Four basketball players and five swimmers were honored with announcements at their respective national championship events that they were NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

All four basketball scholar-athletes honorees earned the honor for what was not the first time.
Christian Misi and
Caelan Tiongson earned the honor for the 30-4 men's team while
Joclyn Kirton and
Aubree Mittel brough home the honor on the women's side.

Abby Blake and
Angela Kirschner earch earned their second NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, while the other three swim & dive honorees all got recognized for the first time.

The first time honorees were
Michael Severi,
Chad LeJeune and
Jennifer Walker.
Â
NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors are given to any junior or senior scholar-athlete with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
