LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Women's Tennis was not at 100 percent as it hosted a very talented and eager Colorado Christian team on Friday afternoon. Some illness caused some shifts in Head Coach Dee Henry's lineup, which played competitively but fell short against the visiting Cougars.
 
Biola got a win at No. 3 singles and a win at No. 3 doubles but dropped the rest of the matches in a 2-7 loss, which extended the team's current losing streak to five matches.
 
"There was a great comeback at third singles and another great comeback at second doubles," said Henry. "Some illness caused lineup adjustments and they really stepped up."
 
Brooke Sanford fell behind early against Katy Balli at No. 3 singles but ultimately managed a 6-4; 6-0 straight set victory to improve to 3-10 on the season.
 
It was first time doubles partners Bailey McGeough and Madeline Heer that managed the Eagles' only doubles win. They beat Jennifer Perkins and Katy Balli 8-6 after falling behind in the match 2-5.
 
The Eagles' losing streak is snapped by default because San Diego Christian had a team-issued forfeit for this Saturday's match. Including that forfeit Henry's team becomes 4-11. Biola resumes its schedule with a Tuesday afternoon home match against the University of the Southwest.
