LA MIRADA, Calif. --- All season long DeMoria White has led this 2015-16 Biola Women's Basketball to new heights. Her leadership as just a sophomore has been unprecedented and she showed a scoring ability matched by few in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
 
As recognition of her skills and efforts the sophomore guard earned her first career all-conference honor as released by the conference office on Tuesday.
 
"We are excited about Mori's All-GSAC recognition," said Head Coach Alan Nakamura. "This conference is full of outstanding players and coaches, so this is a hard-earned honor."
 
White of course led the Eagles with her 16.4 points-per-game, but she also led the GSAC for much of the year before ending up third in scoring just one point behind the conference leader from Arizona Christian.
 
It was a special season for DeMoria as she stepped up big time to fill the shoes of redshirting All-American Annie Park. She led the team in scoring in 20 of its 30 games and reached 20 points 12 times throughout the season.
 
"Mori is one of the smartest players I've had the privilege of coaching. On the court she has been an extension of the coaching staff," said Nakamura. "Off the court she has a fun spirit, is a well-liked and well-respected teammate and is a serious student!"
 
She set her season-best with back-to-back 27-point outings in mid-season wins over Arizona Christian and Bethesda. Her career-best coming into this season was 17 points in a win over Vanguard late in the year in 2014-15.
 
In addition to scoring, White also ranked inside of the top-10 in the conference in field goal percentage (.432), assists (3.3/gm), 3-point FGs (1.5/gm) and assist-to-turnover ratio (0.9:1).
 
"In many ways this is a team award, and the team-first approach of our roster contributed greatly to Mori's outstanding season," said Nakamura.
 
She and the Eagles have a rematch against Hope International this Friday night in the opening round of the GSAC Tournament at Hope International.
