CORONA, Calif. --- Biola Women's Golf jumped back into its competitive season this week at the California Baptist Women's Invitational at Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona, Calif.
 
The picturesque golf course winds its way through the Clevelend National Forest as the pack was challenged with tough holes and pin placement over the course of the 36-hole tournament.
 
The hosts, CBU, took home the tournament title by winning a playoff hole over Academy of Art as the two-day competition came down to the wire and was loaded with very close competitions.

Biola finished 15^th in the 17-team field as it shook off the rust and competed for the first time during its spring season, which is slated to include three regular-season tournaments and April's Golden State Athletic Conference tournament. That event will serve give the conference an automatic qualifier to the NAIA National Championships.
 
The Eagles were one of two GSAC schools at this CBU tournament as Arizona Christian finished eighth overall with a 669 (+93). Biola's 15^th-place finish saw the team finish 42 strokes behind ACU with a 711 (+135).
 
Jasmine Rodriguez rode a strong day one to finish with Biola's lowest score of the tournament. She carded an 84 on Monday and 88 (172 | +28) on Tuesday as the finished tied for 57^th in the field of 96. Her opening round 84 is about a stroke lower than her season average and four strokes lower than her four-year career average.
 
Sarah Paravia, a sophomore, finished second among the Eagles' official players. She finished one stroke behind Rodriguez thanks to an 83 in Tuesday's round. That 83 was the lowest single-round score of the tournament for any Eagle. She finished tie for 59^th at 173 (+29) overall.
 
Both Rodriguez and Paravia shot better than the course average in one of their two rounds. Both shot better than the tournament course average of 86.5.
 
Rounding out Biola's counting scores was Lauren Van Horn (+36), Amanda Hobbs (+42) and Kristin Stone (+62). Kristen Hicks traveled with the team to the tournament and competed as an individual. She finished with a two-round total of 192 (+48).
 
The Eagles finished ahead of Fort Lewis College (+145) and Holy Names University (+175).
 
Biola Women's Golf will compete again March 7-8 in Prescott, Arizona as the team takes part in the Embry-Riddle Spring Invite at Antelope Hills Golf Club.
