Men's Swimming & Diving

Ali, Tixier Highlight Strong Showing Among NAIA Top Times

Biola Swim & Dive proves its a NAIA heavy hitter with 26 swimmers and a diver among the NAIA Top Times.

Christina Ali and Lisa Tixier are both leading the nation in individual events.

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- With over a decade of consecutive NAIA National Championship appearances and a slew of 2014-15 national championships and All-American honors it's no surprise that Head Coach Eddie Shepard's swim & dive program is again one of the tops in the NAIA.

The national office released its most recent midseason top times report last week and Biola swimmers, and its one diver, were littered all over it. The women's relays were especially impressive, placing inside of the top-5 in the nation in all five relays. The Eagles' men's relays also performed strongly with four of the five relays placing inside of the top-10.

Lisa Tixier stole the show in the individual top times listing. She appeared on the top-50 list for 11 different individual events and all five relays. She was inside of the top-10 in eight of those individual events and inside the top-3 in six of them.

Tixier currently leads the nation in the 100-freestyle (51.71) and Christina Ali leads the nation in the 100-breaststroke (1:05.45) and 200-breaststroke (2:20.72). Shane Brinson, Biola's lone diver, was an NAIA All-American last season and is currently first in the nation in the men's one-meter and three-meter dives.

Angela Kirschner, Rebbecca Brandt, Dominique Kaijser, Victoria Turner, Haley Baker, Abby Blake, Thomine Mortensen, Victoria Dunbar, Sammy Dammann, Brooke Fettig, Sophia Dammann, Liliana Barrett and Jenny London also made the top times list in individual events on the women's side.

On the men's side Darrin Smith, Daniel Vale, Edward Campana, Michael Severi, William Granberry, Noah Reed, Chad LeJeune, Kenny Alcosiba, Ryan Harper, Charlie Nanfria and Christian Berney all made the individual's lists.
