LA MIRADA, Calif. --- It may not be spring yet, but the balls, bats and mitts are coming out early at Eagles Diamond. Biola Baseball is keeping busy this fall with 20 fall games, a handful of worship nights and some mission trips.
 
Head Coach Jay Sullenger has scheduled 11 intrasquad scrimmages, one scrimmage with a local college, an alumni game and a seven-game Red vs. Gray World Series.
 
In addition, the team will be taking two mission trips in November. The first will be a trip to Tijuana similar to the one the team took a year ago. The second will be during Thanksgiving break when the squad partners with Fred Jordan Missions.
 
The annual Red vs. Gray World Series will be played from Oct. 22 through Oct. 31. The two sides are to be selected by the team captains at the draft, which takes place following the Alumni Game on Saturday, Oct. 17.
 
That Saturday is a busy day for the 2016 team as it has its scrimmage against Taft College in the morning before the alumni game and draft festivities.
 
The 20-game fall ball schedule will give Sullenger time to get a good look at each of his players headed into his third season at the helm. The 2015 team improved its record from 2014 by seven wins, and hopes are that the winning trend will continue into 2016.
