WHEATON, Ill. --- Parker Setran won a state championship his senior year at Wheaton Academy and will look for the winning to continue as he begins his career with Biola Men's Soccer this fall.
 
Living in Wheaton and deciding to come to a private Christian university on the West Coast was a big decision for Setran, especially with a father who competed in tennis for Wheaton College and is currently a professor there.
 
Setran joins the Eagles with three years of varsity experience and one successful year of club soccer that saw his team win the US Club Soccer National Championship.
 
"I chose Biola because of the Gospel-centered focus and strong community," said Setran. "Also, it was a good opportunity to play soccer with a great group of guys."
 
Setran is a defender who is adept and making offense happen. He had 11 assists between his junior and senior seasons at outside back. His ability to defend and create offense helped him lead the Warriors to top-4 finishes in the state in each of his three varsity seasons.
 
The Warriors were 25-1-1 during their state championship run in Setran's senior season, which is the best mark in school history.
 
"Parker is a tenacious and gritty defender that is willing to put in the extra effort to help his team be successful," said Head Coach Todd Elkins. "he has a desire to get up the flank, but is also the first one to get back behind the ball and help secure the back line."
 
Setran is strong academically and comes from a very strong academic high school. He earned the IHSA scholastic award and made the honor roll during his time at Wheaton.
 
He begins at Biola, and on Al Barbour Field, this fall. Setran plans to study business and hopes for a career in marketing.
