LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association honored 451 tennis programs across all levels of collegiate tennis with All-Academic Team honors last week. Biola Women's Tennis ranked among the programs honored with an overall team grade point average of 3.45.
 
In order to be considered an ITA All-Academic Team, the member program must have a cumulative grade point average above 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. The cumulative grade point average includes fall and spring GPAs of all eligible student-athletes.
 
Head Coach Dee Henry's program has had a qualifying cumulative grade point average every season since the award began in 1996.
 
The ITA also honors individual student-athletes with Scholar-Athlete honors. In order to earn Scholar-Athlete honors, the individual athlete's must be an eligible athlete with a grade point average above 3.50 for the given academic year.
 
Biola had four women and two men earn 2014-15 ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. Tayven Townsend and Luke Mountain represented Head Coach Brent Worthington's men's squad. Susan Carmichael, Jordyn Cooley, Madeline Heer and Lauren Vogel were honored from Henry's bunch.
 
In addition to these ITA honors, both the men and women's programs earned NAIA Scholar Team recognition and four student-athletes earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition.

Arizona Christian's men and women's teams were the only other Golden State Athletic Conference programs to recieve All-Academic honors. ACU, San Diego Christian and Westmont each had individual's honored.
