LAS VEGAS, Nevada --- Emily Neighbors is a dangerous two-way midfielder that has a nose for the goal and can setup her teammates as well. She'll bring four years of varsity experience and some fantastic club experience with her as she joins Biola Women's Soccer.
 
Neighbors comes to BU as a freshman in 2015, following a productive four-year career at Faith Lutheran High School in Las Vegas. She tallied 33 goals and 38 assists in her time with the Crusaders, highlighted by a 2013-14 season where she scored 13 goals and tacked on 12 assists.
 
"Emily is a consistent two-way player, offensively and defensively. She has a calm demeanor and is calm on the ball," said Head Coach Erin Brunelle. "She will help bolster our midfield, and we look forward to developing her over her career here."
 
She is a terrific all-around athlete, also participating in basketball and track & field at her high school while playing two seasons for the Players Soccer Club.
 
Her club team made two appearances at the Western Regionals, including the only US Region IV Championship ever by a Nevada-based club team in 2014. She traveled with the team to nationals that year, highlighting a successful two-year stint in US Youth Soccer.
 
Her production on her high school team led to great success for the Crusaders, who won regional championships in 2012-13 and 2014-15 and placed second in the state in 2012-13.
 
Neighbors was rewarded for her strong play with all-conference first team honors, All-Sunset Division first team honors and all-state first team honors each year from 2011-15. In 2014-15 she earned the prestigious title of Regional Player of the Year in Division 1A.
 
She's also a stud in the classroom, graduating with a 4.0 unweighted grade point average and achieving high honors. She placed on the All-State Academic Team each year from 2011-15.
 
"I chose Biola because I was looking for a university that had great academics and soccer, but also strived to help me continue my growth with Jesus Christ," said Neighbors. "When I visited the campus and met the coaches and staff, I knew Biola was exactly what I was looking for."
 
Neighbors plans to major in human biology and hopes for a career as a physician's assistant. She begins classes in the fall and can be seen holding down the midfield at Al Barbour Field beginning in August.
