VALDEZ, Alaska --- Levi Auble is leaving the frigid temperatures of Alaska to come to the continental United States and play some hoops at Biola.
Â
Auble is coming off a fantastic senior season for Anchorage Christian Schools, which saw him earn 2015 all-state first team, 3A Player of the Year and the South Central Conference MVP. Auble is a 6-foot-5-inch shooter that could make an immediate impact for the Eagles in 2015-16.
Â
He can get up too, winning the AABC high school slam dunk competition last year. His talent didn't come out of nowhere though, as he was also named to the 2014 all-state tournament team.
Â
"I think Levi is going to be a very good player," said Head Coach
Dr. Dave Holmquist. "During his tryout I was surprised by how aggressive and confident he was for a high school senior. He is very skilled as a shooter and ball handler and he really loves to play so I think he will keep improving."
Â
Auble plans to major in business and hopes to get a good job after graduation.
Â
"I chose Biola because I loved the Christian campus, the coaches and how competitive the basketball program was," said Auble.
Â
He starts classes in the fall of 2015.
