Marcus White's 97 is the recognized steals record. Three 1975-76 marks (Jim Tiefenthaler 119, Jim Christensen 108, Jim Worthy 108) carry an asterisk in the record book and are not ranked: that season's team line shows 755 steals in 32 games, and it is the only season of the 1970s with steals recorded.
