Won at the Line

A balanced scoring attack and clutch free throws secure a 12-point win for the Eagles

LA MIRADA --- The Biola men's basketball team hosted the visiting CUI Golden Eagles inside Chase Gymnasium on Thursday night. The Eagles won in dominant fashion, 70-58.

Cameron Brown led all scorers with 20 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Facundo Aranda followed his 15 points performance against Vanguard with another 15 point performance against CUI. Aranda added five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Tyus Parrish-Tillman was quietly offensively contributing nine points. He secured nine rebounds and added three blocks to his PacWest leading total. Chris Harris posted 11 points and eight boards in his first game back.

"We wouldn't be a motor with Facu," stated Cameron Brown. "15 points, stepping up for the team."

Both teams started slow in the first half, combining for only 27 points in the first ten minutes. The Eagles led for the majority of the first half, outside of a 10-4 CUI run spanning just over two minutes. BU closed out the half on a 6-0 run, giving them a 33-28 advantage into the break.

In the second half, Biola outscored CUI 37-30. Harris led the Eagles with 11 points, followed by Brown (8) and Aranda (7). Free throws proved to be the difference as Biola capitalized on their 16 second half attempts, making 14 of them.

With the win, The Eagles improve to 14-13 overall and 10-11 in conference. Biola will close out its season on Saturday night in an historic rivalry game against Azusa Pacific at 7:30 p.m. Join us as we celebrate our seniors.
