LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Rob Groeschell and Garrett Stevenson add NAIA Scholar-Athlete to their resumes with the list of stellar student-athletes released by the national governing body on Thursday afternoon.
 
Both players were selected at Golden State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes last month and now add the national academic honors to that. It is Groeschell's second NAIA Scholar-Athlete nod and Stevenson's first.
 
Groeschell is currently working on his MBA and just completed his second, and final, season for the Eagles. He appeared in 45 games this season with 43 starts in the outfield. He leads the nation in fielding percentage, committing zero errors in 77 chances this year. He also hit .293, scored 24 runs, got some innings on the bump and reached 100 career hits this year.
 
Stevenson earned the academic honor during his first season on the team. He is a junior computer science major and right-handed pitcher. He made five appearances this year for a total of 4.1 innings on the bump.
 
In order to qualify for NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition the athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average above 3.5 and be at least a junior in good academic standing.
