LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Thirteen members of Biola Track & Field were honored on Friday with Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition. Among the Eagles' award-winners were four seniors and nine juniors.
 
Student-athletes are eligible to become NAIA Scholar-Athletes as long as they are a junior or senior with a cumulative grade point average above 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.
 
Carrie Soholt, Andrew Daedler, Brandon Mancini and Jong Yoon are the four seniors to earn the honor. Yoon claims his first career NAIA Scholar-Athlete honor, while the other three earn the recognition for a second time.
 
James McCahon was the lone junior male to earn the honor, but eight junior females joined him, including Brooke Arvidson, Kathleen Bell, Megan Crumley, Nicole Falkenstein, Anika Gasner, Elyse Harabedian, Ilima Kung and Kate Smiley.
 
The 13 honors again gives Biola the most academic awards in the Golden State Athletic Conference. The next closest team was Westmont, with seven award-winners.
