DUBUQUE, Iowa --- Andrew Daughters is continuing a family tradition at Biola. His father, mother and older brother all attended the university, and he follows immediately in the footsteps of his brother James Daughters by committing to swim freestyle on the swim and dive team.
 
Daughters swam two varsity seasons during his high school career, splitting time between Dubuque Senior High School and Sunny Hills High School over the last four years.
 
In 2015 he earned SHHS's men's varsity most improved swimmer award and was a part of a 200-freestyle relay team that placed second at the Freeway League meet. He also led the Lancers to a second place overall team finish at the Freeway League meet.
 
"I am very excited to have Andrew joining us," said Head Coach Eddie Shepard. "I know that his positive attitude and hard work ethic will make him a great college swimmer. I look forward to working with him and helping him reach his full swimming potential."
 
Outside of the pool, Daughters is a stellar student who is focused on achieving his dream of becoming a professional video editor in the movie industry. No doubt Biola's outstanding Cinema & Media Arts program will get him well on his way to reaching that dream.

He took steps that direction during his high school career too, winning the Best Animation Trophy in the high school division at the 2015 Cypress College Film Festival. He held a 4.1 cumulative grade point average throughout high school, earning scholar-athlete recognition and receiving a nomination for the National Honors Society.
 
"I chose Biola because I wanted to attend a school that was deeply rooted in the Word of God and could help me grow as a better follower of Christ, filmmaker and athlete," said Daughters.
 
Daughters begins at Biola in the fall of 2015 and will likely keep himself just as busy as he was throughout high school, when he was a student-athlete, FCA Vice-President and an active ROP participant.
