LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Three swimmers and a men's golfer earned 2014-15 Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in the at-large sports categories.
 
Christine Tixier, Angela Kirschner and Chad LeJeune represent the swim and dive team, while Kevin VandeKamp represents men's golf in earning this prestigious academic honor.
 
These student-athletes were named Academic All-District for the "College Division" district four, which includes NAIA schools and two-year schools from this Southwest region of the United States.
 
In order to qualify for the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District honor student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a key contributor to the team athletically. They must also have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher. The teams are selected by a vote of all Sports Information Directors in the respective region and affiliation.
 
Tixier and Kirschner represent women's swimming and diving, which is fresh off a seventh place national finish. It is Tixier's third Academic All-District honor and Kirschner's first of her career. Tixier is a senior human biology major and Kirschner a junior liberal studies major. Both student-athletes have a grade point average over 3.82.
 
Chad LeJeune represented the men's swimming and diving program with his selection. It is the sophomore business administration major's first Academic All-District honor of his career. He holds school records and has been a part of Biola's national team each of his first two seasons while recording a cumulative GPA of 3.95.
 
Kevin VandeKamp is the final Eagle to earn this academic honor. He is a junior business accounting major who appeared in 14 tournament rounds for Biola in 2014-15 and averaged 81.79 strokes-per-round. It is his first career Academic All-District honor. He's currently got a cumulative GPA of 3.97.
 
The at-large sports category includes Women's Bowling, Women's Crew/Rowing, Men's and Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Men's and Women's Ice Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Rifle, Men's and Women's Skiing, Men's and Women's Swimming, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Water Polo, Men's Wrestling.
 
Nine student-athletes from the Golden State Athletic Conference earned at-large Academic All-District honors. Biola's four led all schools.
 
These honorees will be voted on by the voting members of CoSIDA and the at-large Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-Americans will be released June 8.
