LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Swim and Dive claimed half of the available year-end awards offered by the Pacific Collegiate Swimming and Diving Conference in 2015, with senior Christine Tixier leading the way as the female swimmer of the year.
 
The conference offers six postseason awards, including male and female swimmer and diver of the year and men and women's coach of the year. The awards are voted on by the coaches of the member schools from the NCAA Divisions I, II and III and the NAIA.
 
Tixier collected the female swimmer of the year honors, Shane Brinson earned male diver of the year and Head Coach Eddie Shepard was named women's coach of the year.
 
The awards factor in the individual's performance throughout the season and voters consider their performances at their respective national meets. The team's performance, improvement and accolades are considered when voting for the coach of the year awards.
 
Tixier dominated the NAIA national meet with three individual championships, and Brinson earned two top-3 All-American finishes in his first season diving for the Eagles. Shepard's women's team earned a seventh place national finish for the third consecutive season and collected 18 All-American honors.
 
In the past these postseason awards were split up between the different affiliations represented within the PCSC, so this is the first career win for the two student-athletes and Shepard. The three other award winners represented UC San Diego, Azusa Pacific and Concordia.
