LA MIRADA, Calif. --- On the morning of the first day of competition at its conference championship meet the Golden State Athletic Conference released its list of 2015 Track & Field Scholar-Athletes. Biola led the way with 13 student-athletes earning the honor.
 
The women's team landed nine honors, more than any other school, and the men's team earned four honors, also more than any other school.
 
Carrie Soholt, Andrew Daedler and Brandon Mancini each earned the award for the second time in their Biola careers, while the other 10 are all first-time winners.
 
Brooke Arvidson, Kathleen Bell, Megan Crumley, Nicole Falkenstein, Anika Gasner, Elyse Harabedian, Ilima Kung, James McCahon, Kate Smiley and Jong Yoon were the other Eagles to collect the accolade.
 
In order to be eligible to become a scholar-athlete, student-athletes must be at least a junior and have a cumulative grade point average above 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
 
Majors of Biola's scholar-athletes ranged from biochemistry, business administration and Christian ministry to nursing, human biology, studio arts and liberal studies.
