LA MIRADA, Calif. ---
Kathryn Ashford earns her third All-Golden State Athletic Conference honor in as many years. She's now three-for-three in her three seasons as Biola's No. 1 position singles player.
Â
Ashford worked an 8-15 overall record in singles play this season, including a 4-8 mark in GSAC matches, all out of the No. 1 position.
Â
She had a 10-13 doubles record, combining with
Susan Carmichael as her primary partner, but also going 3-0 in matches with
Brooke Sanford. She played all but two of her doubles matches in the No. 2 slot and was 4-8 in conference doubles play.
Â
She picked up match wins in two of Biola's conference losses, as the team was able to post just a 2-10 mark against the tough GSAC competition this season. She and Carmichael ended the year with a doubles win in Biola's 1-5 loss to No. 14 Concordia in the GSAC Tennis Tournament.
Â
Ashford is up to 29 career singles wins after her third season and is near the top of Biola's career leaderboard with a .460 singles winning percentage. She's also got 33 career doubles wins and gets wins in about 53 percent of her doubles matches.
Â
She will play at this weekend's Ojai Tennis Tournament and then return next spring for her senior season and chance at four-time All-GSAC honors. The All-GSAC honors are presented by Under Armour.
