Big offensive week earns a second-straight GSAC Player of the Week honor for Biola Baseball.

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Andres Rodriguez earned his first career Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor on Monday. The junior third baseman hit .550, scored nine runs and had 10 RBI and upped his season batting average by over 50 points.

Biola Baseball had its most explosive offensive week of the season in a 3-1 week between April 13-19 and Rodriguez was right in the middle of all of it. The Eagles scored 47 runs in the four games, and his nine times crossing the plate led the team.

Rodriguez went 11-for-20 with four extra-base hits and was second on the team in batting average. It was his run production is what made his week truly stand out as he had a hand in nearly half of the Eagles' runs scored.

He upped his season batting average from .221 to .274 with the four games of hot hitting. His best game came on the road against CSU San Marcos, going 5-for-6 with five RBI and three runs scored in the Eagles' 16-10 win over the Cougars.

He scored almost half of his week's runs in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader with San Diego Christian, crossing the plate four times and driving home two more in Biola's 13-5 victory.

He and the team improved to 20-28 overall with the solid week and round out the regular season schedule with five games this week. They play their final home games of the season in a doubleheader with CSU San Marcos.
