CORONA, Calif. --- Brooke Fettig was a part of a high school program with a very long history of success at Santiago High School, now she will swim for another program with a long history of success at Biola.
 
Fettig was a part of a Shark program that won nine consecutive undefeated league championships, including the years she was on the team. She captained the girls team during her senior season of 2014-15.
 
"We are fortunate to have Brook join us as a flyer next year," said Head Coach Eddie Shepard. "Her strength and talents in the pool will add a lot of depth to our program. I think her work ethic and determination will be invaluable assets to our team."
 
During her time at Santiago Fettig worked her way into the top-10 in SHS history in the 100-butterfly, her bread-and-butter event. She worked hard to get to that top mark, earning the team's most improved swimmer award for 2013-14.
 
She's had a lot of experience in the pool, starting her swimming career at the age of nine and swimming for the well-known club team Circle City Aquatics.
 
"I had a strong feeling that Biola was where I needed to be, while I visited the campus," said Fettig. "After a 40-day fast with our church I knew Biola was the right place for me."
 
Fettig was exceptional in and out of the pool during her time at Santiago, compiling a 4.3 cumulative grade point average to graduate honors with distinction. She was a scholar-athlete and her team won the 2012 Riverside County Office of Education Academic-Athletic Team award, given to the girl's sports team with the highest cumulative GPA in the county.
 
She enters Biola in the fall and plans to swim the 100-butterfly, 500-freestyle and 200-IM and study nursing. She intends to enter a career as a nurse practitioner on mission trips.
