Cross Country Captain Commits

Kaili Waller comes to Biola after four varsity seasons at Chaparral High School.

TEMECULA, Calif. --- Kaili Waller commits to join Biola's Cross Country and Track and Field teams beginning in Fall 2015. Waller ran varsity Cross Country and Track for four years at Chaparral High School in Temecula, Calif., where she will graduate from in June.

"We are very excited to add Kaili to a group of freshmen that is bursting with talent. Her vibrant spirit was apparent right away from meeting her, and I am excited for her to bring that positive energy to the team," said Assistant Coach Collin Christensen.

Waller made all-league second team during her Cross Country season both sophomore and senior year. She also captained the team as a senior. The team is ranked at No. 15 in Southwestern Division 1 girls and qualified for CIF Prelims, advancing to the finals.

"It was great getting to meet Kaili, and we are so excited she wants to be a part of our team. Aside from the athletic talent she is bringing, she will be a great encouraging and supporting member of the team," said junior middle distance runner Kathleen Bell.

Waller was on the Honor Roll each year of high school and placed on the Principal's Honor Roll her junior year after earning a 4.1 grade point average. She also received the California Interscholastic Federation Award and All Scholastic Award for three years.

"I chose Biola because I felt there was such a great sense of community," said Waller. "It was clear when I visited the school that Jesus' love was present at the school and everyone had amazing attitudes and were high in spirit."

Waller will start at Biola in the fall undeclared. She hopes to enter into a career where she can help less fortunate people get back on their feet.
