PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. --- Biola tied its highest team finish of the 2014-15 season this weekend, placing fourth of eight teams at the UCSC Invitational held at Pacific Grove Golf Links.
 
The Eagles posted a two-round tally of 695 (+119) to finish 71 strokes back from the tournament winner NCAA DIII No. 2 George Fox (Ore.). The Eagles finished two spots and 61 strokes in front of the tournament host, UC Santa Cruz.
 
Whitney Jammerman and Sarah Paravia again led the way for Biola, helping the Eagles post consistent team scores on both days of competition with their leadership on the links.
 
The duo ultimately tied for 15^th overall at the tournament with two-round scores of 171 (+27). Jammerman shot a day one 83, team-low, and a day two 88, while Paravia, a freshman, shot an 84 in the opening round and followed up with an 87.
 
Jasmine Rodriguez and Lauren Van Horn also had strong tournaments, thanks in large part to being the only Eagles to drop strokes in round two. Rodriguez finished 21^st overall with a 175 (+34) and Van Horn finished 23^rd with her 178 (+34).

Rodriguez dropped three strokes between round one and round two, going from 89 to 86 and Van Horn had a four-stroke improvement, shooting a 91 followed by an 87.
 
Rodriguez's day-two 86 helped her move into that 21^st-place finish and gave the Eagles three scorers in the top half of the leaderboard for the first time in a tournament this season.
 
Sydney Maluenda of GFU led the 42-woman field with a 147 (+3).
 
Biola's next tournament is the GSAC/CalPac Championships/NAIA Regional at Gold Hills Golf Club April 13-14.
