LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola swept all three doubles matches, but fell short in singles en route to a 4-5 loss to Colorado Christian on Thursday.
 
The Eagles won all three doubles matches for the second time this season, with the last occurrence coming in a 8-1 win against Hope International on Feb. 10.
 
"The girls played fabulous in doubles," said Head Coach Dee Henry. "They had great positioning and took charge at the net."
 
Madeline Heer and Kelsey Post combined for an 8-5 win at No. 1, Kathryn Ashford and Brooke Sanford posted an 8-4 win at No. 2 and Taylor Dantuma and Lauren Vogel combined for an 8-3 victory in the third doubles pairing.
 
Singles was much more of a challenge for Biola. The Eagles got just one win in the six matches, but forced three sets in two of its five losses, remaining competitive throughout.
 
Brooke Sanford was the lone Eagle to earn a win in singles competition, beating her opponent in straight-sets, 7-5; 6-3, at No. 4. Sanford improves to 4-8 this season with the victory.
 
"Brooke was down 1-4 in the first set and took the points one at a time to win that set 7-5," said Henry. "Our players battled to the last shot."
 
Kelsey Post and Lauren Vogel each took a set from their opponent, but were unable to get third-set victories to clinch the match for Biola. Also, Jax Mota got her first on-court action of the season, playing No. 6 singles.
 
Biola falls to 2-10 on the season after this latest loss. The season resumes on Friday with a 4:00 p.m. match at No. 9 Arizona Christian (14-0, 6-0 GSAC).
