LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola faced the No. 14 team in the NCAA Division III and was swept 9-0 for the third time this season. The Eagles fell to 2-9 on the season with Tuesday's loss to Sewanee.
 
"It was a very good team, and our women played with great poise, maintaining their composure even when pressured," said Head Coach Dee Henry.
 
The Eagles simply squared off against a superior team on Tuesday, as their opponents continually made adjustments and varied their strategy of attack leading to the big win.
 
The closest Biola came in doubles was at No. 3 where Lauren Vogel and Brooke Sanford lost 4-8.
 
The closest singles match was at No. 2, where Madeline Heer became the only Eagle to win in both sets. Every other Biola player had at least one 6-0 loss, and two Sewanee players won 6-0; 6-0.

"Tennis is like a chess game," said Henry. "You move and the other counters. Our players hit hard and their players took pace off. We'd lob and they would catch the ball in the air mid-court and start their attack."

Biola gets back into action at home on Thursday, hosting Colorado Christian at 1:00 p.m.
