LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Swimming and Diving got off to a productive start to the 2015 Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Championships on Wednesday and Thursday at Splash Aquatic Center.
 
The Eagles added two new additions to their NAIA National Championship team and saw a school record fall through the first two days of the four-day conference championship meet.
 
"We had a really great start to our meet," said Head Coach Eddie Shepard. "There were a large number of fast swims for both genders and the entire team looked strong."
 
Lisa Tixier got her name in Biola's record book for the fifth time this season by swimming a 1:54.83 as the lead-off swimmer in Wednesday night's 800-freestyle relay. This is her second individual school record, and it breaks April Smith's record set at the 2011 NAIA National Championship meet.
 
Tixier teamed with Abby Blake, Angela KIrschner and Christine Tixier to place seventh of 12 relay teams in the 800-freestyle relay. All but one Biola relay team finished inside of the top-10 during day one of the meet.
 
Day two saw two more swimmers notch national qualifying times. Dominique Kaijser got her first qualification of the season by swimming a :25.57 in the 50-freestyle. She finished 38^th in a very, very fast competition.
 
Chad LeJeune also got his first national cut of the year on Thursday, swimming a :22.07, coincidentally the exact time as James Daughters, in a 17^th-place finish in the 50-freestyle.
 
"The two most exciting swims of the day were when Dominique and Chad qualified for nationals," said Shepard. "They've both been working really hard all year and it was great to see them swim so well."
 
The most impressive swim on Thursday afternoon came from Edward Campana, as he placed inside the top-10 in that same 50-freestyle race. His :21.45 was a new season-best.
 
Shane Brinson had a chance to compete, placing third in the men's one-meter dive on Wednesday night. He tallied a 234.45. He has a chance to improve on that finish on Friday, as the men's three-meter dive is scheduled for the late morning.
 
Biola's men's team sits fifth of seven teams at the end of competition on day two and the women's side is 11^th of 12.
 
Friday's competition includes the final diving events along with 400-IM, 100-butterfly, 200-freestyle, 100-breaststroke, 100-backstroke and 400-medley relay.
 
"I am really looking forward to the next two days when we have a lot more events that suit the strengths of our team," said Shepard. "I am optimistic that we can even add a couple more athletes to our national's team."
