LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola got its first victory of the 2015 season on Tuesday with a 8-1 win over Hope International at Biola Tennis Center. The Eagles improve to 1-2 (1-1 GSAC) and the Royals drop to 0-2 (0-2 GSAC).

The Eagles won every point besides the match at No. 4 singles. Even in that match
Kelsey Post pushed her opponent to the brink in a loss during the super breaker.

"Kelsey saved two match points in the second set of her match to send it to the tiebreak," said Head Coach
Dee Henry. "It was close all the way through the super breaker. She gave it a good effort and kept her composure very well."

Every other Eagle kept their composure throughout, leading to eight decisive victories up and down the board against the Royals.
All three doubles matches were breezed through by the Eagles.
Kelsey Post and
Madeline Heer won 8-4 at No. 1,
Susan Carmichael and
Kathryn Ashford cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 2 and
Brooke Sanford and
Lauren Vogel matched that with an 8-1 win at No. 3. It was the first victories of the season for the doubles pairings at No. 2 and No. 3.

For Ashford, Sanford and Vogel this match marked their first singles victory of the season also. The three of them each won in straight sets with one 6-0 set, three 6-1 sets and two 6-2 sets.

The match was four hours long and was clinched by Sanford's win (6-0; 6-2) at No. 5 singles. The newcomer defeated Gabriella Chavez to earn her first career Golden State Athletic Conference victory.

Biola gets back on the court on Saturday for a road match at San Diego Christian (0-2, 0-2 GSAC).
