LA MIRADA, Calif. --- In 2014 the Biola Men's Soccer team was blanked when the NAIA All-American awards were announced, but the script was completely flipped in 2015 as three Eagles earn the prestigious national honor.
 
Leading the way with his first career All-American honor and placing on the first team is senior captain Joey O'Keefe. Also earning All-American status is Leo Contreras (3^rd Team) and John Hanscom (Honorable Mention).
 
O'Keefe caps a most memorable senior season with the huge honor of being recognized as one of the top 11 players in the entire nation. He was one of four midfielders to earn a spot on the first team and was the only American-born player on the list.
 
He was this season's Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Year and led the Eagles to a top-16 finish at the national tournament. He finished his senior campaign with 12 goals and eight assists to rank inside the top-50 in the NAIA with 32 points. O'Keefe finishes off his remarkable four-year career with the Eagles with 28 goals and 21 assists in 72 matches.
 
More important even than his impressive statistics is the leadership role he's played on the team throughout his four seasons at Biola. He's been a central midfielder that's controlled matches from start-to-finish on the offensive and defensive side of the ball and has helped foster a sense of family among his teammates that's taken this program to a whole new level.
 
Contreras earns his first All-American honors in his first season playing for Biola. It's been a long road for him to get here and to get eligible, but he's immediately made the most of it in powering one of the top offensive efforts in the NAIA with his creative playmaking.
 
He's earned a spot on the third team with his 10 goals and seven assists. Even when he's not directly on the stat sheet he's assisted the Eagles' offense by drawing defensive attention because of his outstanding skills on the ball. He's a junior, so look for him to find a spot on this list once again next year. Contreras was also named the GSAC Newcomer of the Year this season.
 
For Hanscom this honorable mention award is a reward for four seasons of hard work that led him to a tremendous effort in his senior season. The streaky winger ended the season with six goals and five assists after going the first 10 games of the season without a goal.
 
This is his first career All-American honor and it comes in the same season as his first career all-conference honor and trip to the NAIA National Tournament. He ends his four-year career with Biola with 18 goals and 18 assists in 76 matches played.
These awards provide a nice, tidy bow to tie around a historic season for this Biola Men's Soccer program that celebrates the careers of one of the most impactful senior classes to come through this program over the course of its 55-year history.
