Biola 10th In First LSDC Fall Standings

Biola sits at No. 10 in the first Learfield Sports Director's Cup rankings.

CLEVELAND, Ohio --- In the first of three scheduled fall standings releases, Biola ranks No. 10 in the NAIA's Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings.

The first fall rankings only include men and women's cross country and thus only ranks programs that scored points in those two sports. There were 46 schools to receive points in either men or women's cross country this fall.

Biola's 10th place standing puts the institution second among Golden State Athletic Conference schools as The Master's College's ninth-place men's cross country finish pushed them ahead of the Eagles and into eighth place overall.

Westmont claimed 13th in the initial standings to put three GSAC schools inside of the top-15.

Biola's no. 10 ranking was powered by a third-place finish in women's cross country and a no. 25 mark on the men's side.

Biola finished 24th in the Directors' cup standings in 2014-15.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports in the NAIA-- six women's and six men's.

The next NAIA fall standings will be released Wednesday, Dec. 17.
