ORANGE BEACH, Ala. --- Biola Women's Soccer kicks off its trip to the 2015 NAIA National Championship by playing the No. 3 team in the country, and tournament host school, Mobile (Ala.). The two teams meet at 4:30 p.m. (PT) on Monday Nov. 30.
This second round matchup takes place at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Alabama at 4:30 p.m. PT on Monday Nov. 30, 2015. This is the first all-time meeting between these two programs.
Biola earned its spot in the NAIA National Championship Tournament with the fifth at-large bid. The Eagles defeated Eastern Oregon 1-0 in an Opening Round matchup in La Grande, Oregon last Saturday. Mobile would be here at the final site regardless of its record as the host school, but the No. 3 Rams also won the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship to earn a bid. The Rams had an Opening Round bye and have not played a match since defeating William Carey in the SSAC Tournament Championship on Nov. 13.

ABOUT MOBILE:
Mobile is back in the NAIA National Championship Tournament for the sixth season in a row. It is the 10th time the Rams have appeared in the tournament all-time. The team won a national championship in 1997.
The Rams are the fifth seed in the tournament field (based off MRPI rankings) and rank No. 3 in the previous NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll. Mobile comes into play with an 18-2 overall record this season and has not lost a game away from home. The Rams are 4-0 at neutral sites in 2015. Mobile's last loss came in its final regular season game on Oct. 31 when it lost 1-0 to No. 5 William Carey.
The Rams are a complete team with a possession playing style similar to that of Westmont. Mobile ranks inside of the top-25 teams in the nation in shutouts, shots-on-goal, assists and goals this season. The team is lef by two double-digit goal-scorers, Katie Compton (13) and Cayla Hebert. It's 26-woman roster is very evenly made up of seven freshmen, seven sophomores, eight juniors and four seniors.
The Rams come from one of the toughest women's soccer conferences in all of the NAIA, the Southern States Athletic Conference. The SSAC has three teams competing here at the national championship final site and all three are ranked inside the top-10 in the latest coaches' poll. Despite the tough competition the Rams landed six players on the all-conference team and had one player earn a selection to the all-freshman team.
Mobile was 7-2 against opponents ranked inside of the top-25 or receiving votes this season. The two losses came against teams that it also found a way to beat in another matchup as the season progressed. These two teams played no shared opponents this season. In 2014 the Rams were eliminated in this round of play at the NAIA National Championship Tournament with a 5-1 loss to Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).
