Big Day For Baseball Oct. 17

Biola Baseball hosts scrimmage, alumni game and draft all during one day in late-October.

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- October 17 is a big day for Biola Baseball as the Eagles host Taft College for a fall scrimmage, play an alumni game and draft both sides for the annual Red vs. Gray World Series.

The day's festivities begin with an 11:00 a.m. scrimmage against Taft College. Alumni are welcomed back to watch the game, eat some free food and reminisce about their time at Eagles Diamond.

After that game some of the current players will be sharing their testimony with the members of the Taft College team in a time of fellowship and more food.

The big highlight of the afternoon will come at 3:00 p.m. when the alumni and current team will go head-to-head in what always proves to be an intense matchup on the baseball field.

The alumni will look to avenge last year's 8-7 defeat at the hands of the 2015 team. The score could look a bit different this year now that some of last year's graduates are welcomed to join the alumni lineup.

Following the alumni game festivities will be the annual draft for the Red vs. Gray World Series. This is set to take place at 5:30 p.m. and will also feature dinner for players, alumni and families.

During the draft the two captains appointed by the coaching staff will pick sides for the seven-game intrasquad world series that takes place between Oct. 22 and Oct. 31. The draft and dinner will be held at indoors immediately following the conclusion of the alumni game.
