Baseball Adds New Bat In Brecheen

Colin Brecheen had a solid final year at Orange Lutheran, hope to transition to Biola.

Colin Brecheen In Action

Orange, Calif. --- Biola baseball adds another exciting outfielder in Orange Lutheran High School standout Colin Brecheen. The 6-foot-4-inch student-athlete brings Biola a keen batting-eye (.400 OBP in 2014), sure fielding (no errors in 66 total chances) and, according to the Biola staff, a high upside.

A late-bloomer at a talented program, Brecheen comes to Biola with just two years of varsity experience and only in his senior season did he see significant playing time. However, his athleticism, Brecheen also played football, allowed him to place in the top-10 in the Trinity League in batting average and fielding percentage. He also earned all-league honorable mention for his prowess as a defensive player.

"He has the ability to find his spot on the field with the program here at Biola," said Head Coach Jay Sullenger. "As he grows in his knowledge of the system here, he will continue to develop as a player and young man."

Outside of baseball, the Tustin, California-native takes full advantage of the Southern California climate by surfing. He was drawn to Biola by the coaching staff and the opportunity to be in a Christ-centered environment.
