Box Score HELENA, Mont. --- Six days and 1,168 miles of travel did not make any impact on No. 8 Biola, as the hot streak started last Saturday at the Concordia Labor Day Tournament continued in the Eagles' first match of the Carroll College tournament.

Biola made quick work of Montana State-Northern, finishing the Skylights in straight sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-14) including a dominant display in the decisive third game.
 
Strong defensive play helped the Eagles overcome some early issues on the offensive side of the game in order to earn the three-set victory.  For just the second time this season, Biola notched double-digit block numbers with its 11 total blocks.
 
The Eagles' middle blocker duo were instrumental in racking up those blocks to stop the Skylights' attacking attempts. Amy Weststeyn ended the match with five block assists and two solo blocks and Lauren Hoenecke chipped in on three blocks.
 
Alex Brehaut was busy at the libero spot, earning 20 digs in the match, keeping the attack in Biola's hands to continue racking up the points despite hitting below .300 in two of the three sets.
 
Ashton Arbuthnot and Allison Spencer were again key to the Eagles victory, as they far outplayed the Skylights' lone setter, Jaden Lynch. Biola's side notched 42 total assists and just one setting error, while MSUN's side managed only 27 assists compared to four errors.
 
The Eagles' effort was far from perfect, as for the first time this season no player reached double-digit kills in the match, and yet again, Biola posted way more service errors than it did successful serve attempts. The Eagles now have a total of 48 service aces this season and over 70 service errors.
 
Biola held MSUN to just 27 kills in this early-morning match and forced 22 errors to keep the Skylights hitting just .079, allowing the Eagles to escape despite its own errors.
 
The Eagles improve to 8-2 on the year and face Carroll College at 6 p.m. today. Montana State-Northern falls to 3-7 and goes on to face UC Merced in the afternoon.
