EL CAJON, Calif. --- Biola adds an injection of athleticism and talent as Brandon Tardiff commits to join Head Coach Jay Sullenger's baseball squad rather than attend the Golden State Athletic Conference school that is right in his own backyard, San Diego Christian.
 
Tardiff comes to the Eagles following three seasons at Christian High School in El Cajon, California. He led this squad to the Central league championship after three straight years of being bounced in the semi-finals. The eagle-eyed corner outfielder posted an impressive .452 OBP in his senior year to go with his .340 career batting average.
 
"He is a strong, physically mature left handed hitter," said Sullenger. "Brandon is a true freshmen that has pop in his bat. He is a corner outfielder, who projects to make an impact with his bat right away as he makes the necessary adjustments to collegiate pitching."
 
Away from the diamond, Tardiff locked down on the hardwood as a varsity basketball player. He won defensive player of the year for the Patriots' basketball team. He also maintained honor roll standing, enjoys fishing and plans on majoring in communications.

Tardiff comes from a family of athletes, as his uncle played baseball at Fresno State, grandpa played at Stanford and his cousin is currently playing at San Diego State. When not competing, Tardiff fishes and spends time cheering on SDSU basketball.
 
He began classes at Biola last week and will suit up for Sullenger in fall games and the spring season. He chose Biola for the opportunity to play the game he loves and grow in baseball, academics and his faith.
